Workflow and Automation: Adding Value to Defense Operations

Originally aired August 15, 2018

Across the Department of Defense (DOD), agencies are under pressure to increase the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of operations so that resources can be reinvested for war-fighting capabilities. Better planning and management, while important, can only go so far. Real gains will come with modernizing and automating workflow processes across nine key areas identified for potential improvement –information technology, human resources, community services, contracts, real property, testing and evaluation, medical services, logistics and supply, and financial management —improving both the business processes behind the scenes and the communications between defense organizations and end-users.

This webcast will examine several DOD use-cases for improving automation and workflow processes and discuss the following key technology areas necessary for enabling Digital Transformation within the DOD: secure mobility, cloud, internet of things, artificial intelligence, machine learning, blockchain, big data analytics.
