Presentation: The Rise of Real-Time BIM
In the past, the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry relied heavily on in-person interaction, physical models, and 2D visuals. But now, real-time BIM is starting to transform how the AEC industry designs, creates, and operates buildings.
Using real-time BIM enables companies to create immersive, interactive experiences for virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR). Companies can conduct design reviews, experience an environment before it exists, train without being constrained by physical boundaries, and iterate across teams before the concrete is poured.
This session will explain what real-time BIM is, how it’s changing the AEC industry, and show real life examples of real-time BIM applications.

Presentation: The Golden Thread a £600,000,000 Opportunity to Make BIM Work
The government is pushing forward new building safety regulations, even whilst in the middle of Covid19. The Golden Thread is central to this and BIM is the only recognised standards based method to achieve the Golden Thread
The cost to implement the “Golden Thread” for the 19,500 residential block is estimated at over £600,000,000 a year, this is a massive opportunity for everyone in BIM and digital construction
Whilst we are investing in the Golden Thread we can fix many of the other issues in our industry. Let's take this opportunity to fix poor quality and inaccurate Lifecycle costing
In this talk, I will go through the problems, the solutions and the opportunities in implementing the golden thread
Don’t be fooled that this is only an issue for the Residential sector, as improved safety, quality and lifecycle costing are key drivers for all in our industry and this forced change in residential can be an opportunity for all to make BIM work to a level we previously only dreamed about
