ULTRA HIGH PERFORMANCE CONCRETE FOR CONSTRUCTION AND REHABILITATION OF PAVEMENTS AND STRUCTURES
Since its first development by Hans Henrik Bache in 1978, Ultra High Performance Concrete (UHPC) has been produced in the early 1990s for many special applications like security- and military industries, wear protection and offshore. It is only in the past 20 years that special applications for UHPC in civil engineering such as industrial flooring, pavements and concrete repair gained traction among engineers worldwide.
Despite growing interests, UHPC and its practical application is still unknown by most engineers. UHPC is often surrounded by magic and incomprehension that make application and use more difficult. Only when UHPC and the application possibilities are fully understood will it be possible to design new, often hybrid, structures with less impact on our environment and our living environment, but also slim, strong and durable as Hans Henrik Bache sketched on his drawing block 40 years ago.
Join Mr Peter Buitelaar, Owner of Peter Buitelaar Consultancy, Netherlands as he unravels the mystery of UHPC and discover how UHPC can meet the industry demands of Asia for construction and rehabilitation of pavements and structures.
