Overview

Innovation for advantage, one of the pillars of DOD’s digital modernization strategy, is the rationale for deployment of cloud, cyber and other improvements that support warfighters. As Department of Defense (DOD) agencies seek to apply this concept, deploy it fast enough to accomplish missions and still ensure cost-effectiveness, a number of challenges present themselves. Use of standards-based technologies, security, adoption rates and the need to maintain existing platforms for mission purposes all can slow the impact of innovation and complicate program rollouts.

This webinar will address how to achieve innovation within a framework that accommodates speed and risk. Panelists are:

• MG Garrett Yee, assistant to the director of Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), which is embarking on a modernization program for the Fourth Estate

• VADM Ted Branch (USN, Ret.), leader of the Navy’s first-of-its-kind enterprise IT platform

• RADM Kathy Creighton, Director, Information Warfare Integration, N2/N6F, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations

• Moderator: SIGNAL magazine Editor, Kim Underwood
