Diagnostic Approach to Weight Loss in Cats

Weight loss in cats can be seen with a multitude of conditions and as such it is essential to have a directed and pragmatic approach while considering the most common differential diagnoses. During this webinar with Dr. Susana Silva, we will discuss the most common causes of weight loss, why a Minimum DataBase is an essential starting point of the investigation, and what other additional tests may be relevant.

Learning Objectives:

  • Emphasize the importance of evaluating clinical information before embarking on a long-winded investigation of causes of weight loss.
  • Highlight the importance of establishing a broad-list of possible causes for weight loss from early on.
  • Review the extremely valuable information that a Minimum DataBase can provide in unwell patients.
  • Briefly review some of the ancillary tests that might be used to investigate potential causes of anorexia.
