College Collaboration
With colleges facing financial headwinds and challenges enrolling students, more are looking to team up with other higher-education institutions to cut costs, expand academic programs, or make other changes. In some cases, they even want to merge with a peer.

How do college leaders know a collaboration, merger, or joining a consortium is the right move? What factors make such an effort a success or failure? This hour-long webinar will examine the trends pushing colleges to partner, the myriad of partnership opportunities that exist, and the ways to make them work.

Hosted by a Chronicle editor, the webinar will include two higher-education experts: a leading consultant who has studied mergers and strategic partnerships, and the executive director of a coalition of six top liberal-arts colleges. During the webinar, participants will learn:
  • How to set up a consortium and make it operate smoothly
  • The right time for a merger
  • How to evaluate potential partners
