Single-cell sequencing of DNA, alongside other single-cell methods, is revolutionizing our understanding of biological systems, ranging from complex microbial communities and genetic mosaicism, to intra-tumor heterogeneity. Focusing on biomedicine, this webcast will explore the latest developments and outstanding challenges in this rapidly moving field.
Although the technology has come very far in just a few years, challenges remain, including sequencing accuracy, coverage, throughput and computational analysis of the data. In the meantime, single-cell DNA sequencing is being applied not only to make important discoveries in the laboratory but also to characterize clinical samples, charting a path towards its use in personalized medical care.
