EnergyNest’s Thermal Battery™ solution is a modular thermal energy storage system based on solid state media (HEATCRETE®) to valorise industrial waste heat. The system can be applied across all manufacturing and processing industries with high-temperature energy requirements - metallurgy, ceramics, chemicals, petrochemicals, glass, food & beverage industry etc.

EnergyNest is a Norwegian technology company which has developed and proven their Thermal Battery concept with a 1 MWh-th pilot system, which is now commercially available from several MWh-th to GWh-th capacity. EnergyNest is currently implementing three of the first commercial Thermal Battery projects in Europe – at production sites of major industrial companies.

This presentation will introduce the Thermal Battery technology; explain the concept, ease of integration and operation; review the markets and technical applications; update on existing projects and how the Thermal Battery can contribute to decarbonising the industrial and energy sectors, today - and in the future.

The presentation will be given by EnergyNest VP Technology & Research, Nils Høivik, who has participated in the development of the modular Thermal Battery solution, together with Pål G. Bergan, PhD, Dr.h.c., Professor Emeritus, the founder of EnergyNest and inventor of the Thermal Battery technology.
