In little over a month’s time, Making Tax Digital (MTD) will come into effect and the VAT submission process will change. Businesses using non-compatible software or entering figures directly onto HMRC’s website will no longer be compliant. For many farm businesses, this will mean purchasing new software which has been approved by HMRC.
Which is why Farmer’s Weekly has teamed up with Baldwin’s Chartered Accountants, Farmplan and the Institute of Agricultural Secretaries and Administrators to host a live panel discussion. We’ll explain exactly what MTD means for agricultural businesses, including the implications, solutions and possible benefits of these changes. They’ll also be joined by farmers who have gone through this process already - as part of HMRC’s program of beta-testers – ready to share their experiences and advice.
