CEMENT & CONCRETE SERIES CONSTITUENT MATERIALS FOR CONCRETE
DATE: 8th SEPTEMBER 2020
TIME: 3 PM - 5 PM (UTC +8)
OVERVIEW
This is an introduction to the family of current EN standards relating to the design of concrete structures and the former British standards they replaced. The new single standard covers 27 types of common cements and 7 types of sulfate resisting cements that replace different individual British standard on common cements. Join this session to learn topics including:
Conformity criteria for strength class and heat of hydration
Supplementary cementitious materials (fly ash, ggbs and silica fume) as additions
Chemical admixtures (plasticisers and set-retardation) specification and testing
Aggregate grading and properties as categories and their requirements
Fineness and fines content in fine aggregate
Crushed concrete aggregate (CCA) and recycled aggregate (RA)
Minimizing the risk of damaging alkali-silica reaction in concrete
