In the first of a new Quarterly Review presentation series, CoinDesk Research features a set of metrics for investors in bitcoin, ethereum and other crypto assets, looking for indications that those assets' critical use cases are gaining real-world traction.

Across 35 charts, we look at institutional interest, store of value, speculation and Web 3 use cases, and conclude that a “clear” use case winner has not yet emerged. Our aim is to contribute to investors' understanding of signals that indicate value in these novel economic systems and enterprises.
